Reengineering

Imaginvest works with clients at different stages of the development process, typically either those creating a new build visitor attraction, or troubleshooting or updating an existing one. One of our hallmark services is reengineering existing sites which are underperforming.

Our approach can highlight potential which has not yet been realized in the form of opportunities to increase market penetration and attendance, per capita spending, or operating efficiencies. Through the reengineering process we are able to release this potential.

Imaginvest has an excellent track record in reengineering sites, providing new offers which have been well received and have enhanced business performance. In some instances this has been for troubled attractions which have required action to avoid financial difficulties, in others it has been for long established attractions requiring refreshment, or for existing facilities seeking to make a step-change in performance.

Our services in reengineering are applicable for major theme parks wishing to enhance performance, through to cultural attractions wishing to reach more people and needing to renovate, adding new dynamism to their message.

During the reengineering process we review the potential the market can deliver and develop appropriate new attractions, master plans and business, marketing and operational strategies to realize this.

Imaginvest Reengineering: Increasing the performance of your leisure assets

Our multi-disciplinary team is focused on releasing a site’s full potential.

As with all our work, we consider a flexible approach to be beneficial. We can work for the operators as well as the owners of the site and we can reengineer an entire leisure offer or just an area or single element of the offer within an existing site. We know how to plan for the implementation of our reengineering projects, so that the operation is not negatively impacted.

Case studies

Emmanuel Mongon, President of Imaginvest, was previously in charge of the reengineering of Parc Asterix, in France. Lessons learned there and know-how developed specifically in the context of competing successfully with Disneyland Paris (then Euro-disney), formed the starting point for Imaginvest’s know-how.

We take great care to be sensitive to the existing strengths and sensibilities of an attraction and its owners: a part of our work is in heritage, where the protection of the monument is a prerequisite and strongly controlled.

The owners of Tripsdrill, the oldest theme park in Germany (created 75 years ago), can testify that our reengineering work enhances performance and requires attention to detail in many areas (see our approach)
